Our staff member Omar Martin Fieles-Ahmad won the Best Presentation Award at the first MadBrew Workshop with his paper “The Fentanyl Shock: Synthetic Opioids and the Supply of Organ Donors.” The award was presented by the faculty representative for research affairs and organizer of the workshop, Prof. Dr. Andreas Knabe — congratulations!

Both Mohamad Saoud (r.) and Martin Omar Fieles-Ahmad (l.) impressed in recent semesters at the faculty's Best Paper Award. So two awards in a row went to the Chair of Economics, Applied Economics.

Our chair-member Omar Martin Fieles-Ahmad has won the Best Paper Award for his paper "I got 99 Problems and a Birch is One: Seasonal Allergies and Road Safety in the UK". He presented his paper at the FEM Research Seminar in summer term 2025. Fieles-Ahmad was honored by Prof. Dr. Andreas Knabe, Faculty Commissioner Research Affairs.

Mohamad Saoud, research assistant at our chair, was awarded with the faculty's Best Paper Award. His paper “Not My Cross to Bear! Refugee Immigration and Crimes Against Non-Refugee Foreigners” was the most convincing at the faculty-wide research seminar in the winter semester 2024/2025. The certificate was presented by Prof. Dr. Andreas Knabe, Faculty Commissioner Research Affairs.
